Passaic County Car Crashes Cause Fatalities, Critical Injuries and a House Fire
A woman died Sunday, August 10th at the Hawthorne Farmers Market on Grand Avenue, when a pickup truck drove through the barricades and struck several people. The others who were hit did not receive life-threatening injuries, but the unfortunate woman who was killed was dragged for several blocks before the truck finally came to rest around Lafayette Avenue and Legion Place. The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
Two weeks earlier, a two-car collision in Paterson wound up critically injuring one of the drivers and setting a house on fire in the process.
That accident occurred at about 3:00 in the morning on July 27th, when two cars collided with each other at the intersection of Totowa Road and Wayne Avenue in Paterson. One of the cars left the road and drove into a house, where both car and house caught fire.
According to some of the neighbors in the vicinity of the collision, the two cars were racing at a high speed when the accident occurred, although this information has not been officially confirmed. The cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
